Social Value Statement
At Autrac, we see social value as a core responsibility, not a side activity.

As public investment tightens and communities face growing challenges, businesses must step forward and provide thoughtful, tangible support that responds to local needs.

We focus on delivering practical benefits—backing the people and organisations who make a real difference in our communities and using our skills to add value beyond the contract.
Supporting Local Communities

In 2024, we handed out over 50 back-to-school packs during a community event supporting families during a very difficult economic time to ensure their children had the essentials for the new school year.

We also provided financial support to a Basics Food Bank helping hundreds of families get the nutrition needed for a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, we have supported Life Changes Community Counselling with financial support, which is a local counselling charity offering crisis sessions at prices people can actually afford. www.lifechangescounselling.org.uk

We have completed a UK-wide grant funding review, offering tailored guidance to community organisations on accessing, applying for, and making best use of public and charitable funds. By demystifying the process and sharing insights, we're helping local groups unlock vital resources to do more of what matters in their communities.

This has become an annual exercise that will hopefully help charitable organisations to access essential funding to ensure their valuable community services continue, and leveraging our experience with grant funding applications, we supported charitable organisations in submitting grant applications.
Backing Local and Emerging Talent
Mentoring is part of our day job—helping local leaders find their feet, raise their voices, and run with their ideas. We’ve given free advice to small businesses on how to operate more safely and sustainably. We’ve lent a hand in developing grassroots training to give community organisations and networking groups the tools to do more, with more confidence.
Taking Responsibility for the Environment
Helping organisations cut their environmental impact doesn’t have to be difficult. Sometimes, it’s as simple as helping someone draft their first sustainability policy—or pointing out a few energy-saving tricks they hadn’t thought of. We’re making greener choices in our own work too: reducing travel, tightening up waste, and working with ethical suppliers wherever we can.
We have supported local SME’s to create sustainability policies and processes that will contribute towards the journey to net zero.
A Shared Responsibility
We don’t see this as going above and beyond—it’s simply the right way to work. In a time when many public services are stretched, businesses like ours have a role to play in filling the gaps and doing what we can.
Looking Ahead: Our Commitments
We’re not just marking what we’ve done—we’re mapping out what comes next. Because social value, like any good project, needs direction.

So, over the next two years, we’ve set our sights on:
- Distributing 200 more back-to-school packs to families that need them.
- Donating at least £5,000 in funding or time to community mental health and wellbeing services.
- Offering 50 hours of free mentoring or consultancy to small charities and grassroots ventures.
- Helping five small businesses write and roll out practical environmental action plans.
- Supporting three new community training initiatives that build lasting skills and networks.

These aren’t just targets—they’re promises. We track them, talk about them, and learn from them. Through our internal monitoring and reporting procedures, our social value commitments form part of our business KPI’s
We're also launching a new campaign to connect with small businesses, local charities, and community-led groups who could use a hand. Whether it’s advice on working greener, safer, or smarter—or a bit of financial backing to get an idea off the ground—our doors are open. Interested organisations can reach out or apply directly through our website to be part of the programme. It’s simple, straightforward, and designed to meet people where they are.

To make our support more accessible and consistent, we now run annual initiatives offering a mix of funding, mentoring, and time. Each year, we commit to a rolling programme that includes financial contributions, free consultancy hours, and tailored workshops that meet real, on-the-ground needs.
